COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Al Davis has been appointed director of Texas A&M Forest Service by The Texas A&M University System Board of Regents in a special telephonic meeting on June 14.
“I am grateful to Chancellor Sharp, Vice Chancellor Savell and the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents for entrusting me to lead the great state agency, Texas A&M Forest Service,” said Davis.
Davis has served as interim director of Texas A&M Forest Service since June 1, 2021. Prior to serving as interim director, Davis was the Deputy Agency Director & Chief of Staff of the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service.
In his two years as interim director, Davis has made a great impact on the people and mission of Texas A&M Forest Service. Since his first day, his top priorities were safety, employee retention, relationships and telling the agency story.
