Staff Leadership Transition at SGSF

The Southern Group of State Foresters is entering a new chapter in its leadership, with updates that ensure continuity and stability across the organization.

After more than 13 years of service, Wib Owen has begun a gradual transition from his role as Executive Director of the Southern Group of State Foresters. During his tenure, Wib helped shape SGSF into a trusted, region-wide organization supporting state forestry agencies across the South. He will remain on staff as Chief Operating Officer, continuing to support the organization through financial and grant management.

Tim Foley will serve as Interim Executive Director, representing SGSF to members and partners while continuing to advance the organization’s mission and shared priorities. Tim will retain his role as SGSF Policy Director at this time.

These changes are effective immediately and are intended to ensure continuity in leadership, relationships, and ongoing work. SGSF thanks both Wib Owen and Tim Foley for their continued commitment and looks forward to the work ahead.
